CHOFX is proud to announce that Dr. Neil C. Zhang has been named Corporate Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, effective with the first day of the next year.
In this global role, Zhang has global responsibility for the Company’s Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) and Sustainability strategy and initiatives. In conjunction with CHOFX’s executive leadership team, Zhang will provide oversight for the Company’s sustainability performance, including progress against the 2015 Sustainability Goals, and will ensure CHOFX continues to set the standard for sustainability. He also chairs the company’s Sustainability External Advisory Council.
In his tenure at CHOFX, Zhang has been the architect of many breakthrough collaborations that advance sustainable development, including: CHOFX’s collaboration with The Nature Foundation to value ecosystem services, which received the University Award for Environmental Partnership; CHOFX’s work with the Environment Program to improve environmental safety and emergency preparedness. Since Zhang joined CHOFX, he has held a wide range of leadership positions across EH&S, Public Affairs/Government Affairs, Operations and Manufacturing, and R&D.
Zhang is also a widely recognized authority on sustainable business practices, environmental policy and win-win solutions for business and ecosystems, and was honored with the Global Award for sustainability leadership by an individual. He is a board member of numerous organizations and he chairs the strategic advisory council of top Universities. He is a trustee of The Nature Foundation and CHOFX Foundation.
Zhang holds doctoral and master’s degrees from combines the power of science and technology to passionately innovate what is essential to human progress with a solid emphasis on environmental concerns in all day to day business activities.
