All-new kayak tour trip offers unique view of the state park
MORRIS, ILLINOIS, APRIL 19, 2016 - Kayak Morris is thrilled to announce the addition of a new guided kayak tour to the list of Starved Rock State Park area tours.
Kayak Morris offers award-winning kayak tours, float trips, camping, and more. The new Starved Rock State Park kayak tour offers more outdoor adventures for friends, families, and couples. With kayaking tours for all skill levels and exciting adventures including “glamping”, Kayak Morris is dedicated to offering a family-friendly, exciting outdoor adventure for everyone.
“We are always looking for innovative ways to engage youth to explore the outdoors. When we were growing up, 'Nature Deficit Disorder’ was not prevalent. Our mission is Reuniting families by Reconnecting them in Nature,” said the Kayak Morris team.
The tour gives guests a new perspective of Starved Rock State Park. The St. Peters sandstone bluffs standing above the Illinois River, for example, offer a view that has been rated #1 in the state on numerous occasions.
The trip takes approximately 3 hours in its entirety and includes an excursion into Illinois Canyon when water levels allow. The tour launches from Lone Point shelter, and tour returns to this point, eliminating the need for a shuttle. Guests are asked to wear water shoes.
Kayak tours at Starved Rock State Park are scheduled for the coming months and include cliffs and canyons from 9am - 12pm and Buffalo Rock cliffs from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Upcoming dates include May 21, July 9, August 20, and September 10, 2016.
