Orlando, FL— April 19, 2016 — As one of the oldest and most therapeutic spices used for centuries, turmeric has become widely available not just in a powder form but also through supplementation. There are many known benefits in the use of this medicinal spice, and one is beneficial for brain health.

Turmeric has the potential ability to save the brain from premature death. This ancient, medicinal spice has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine. Its use is believed to offer a myriad of benefits to human health.

“Curcumin is thought to be mostly responsible for the therapeutic effects of turmeric,” said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O’Sullivan.

Curcumin is a polyphenol found in the medicinal spice. It is thought to contain various therapeutic substances, which includes anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. The use of these healing properties is associated with a range of health benefits.

The Cellular Physiology and Biochemistry published a recent study with a title “Dietary Curcumin Ameliorates Aging-Related Cerebrovascular Dysfunction through the AMPK/Uncoupling Protein 2 Pathway.”  This study reveals that curcumin may have the potential ability to reverse cerebrovascular dysfunction that is age-related.

Age-related cerebrovascular dysfunction includes cognitive decline, stroke, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and neurodegenerative diseases.

“Curcumin is thought to be an effective, safe, and affordable evidence-based natural solution for the condition,” added O’Sullivan.

The study involved 24-month old male rodents, which were treated with curcumin. After one month of treatment, the researchers saw an impressive repair of the impaired cerebrovascular endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation in the aging rats.

The researchers thus summarized that curcumin may be a potentially effective therapeutic ingredient to use in reversing age-related cerebrovascular dysfunction.

The National Library of Medicine provides 1597 abstracts, which are housed in GreenMedInfo.com, on the health value of both curcumin and turmeric. It was found that the spice has the potential to offer more than 600 health benefits. There are studies that feature the neuroprotective properties of turmeric.

There are reports featuring the positive effects of turmeric on cerebrovascular dysfunction diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease. In the article “Turmeric Produces Remarkable Recovery in Alzheimer’ Patients,” it is revealed that the spice could have the potential ability to provide some significant improvements in the psychological and behavioral symptoms of dementia.

Curcumin supplements are widely available in the market today. This natural alternative is thought to have a myriad of health benefits to offer. Among the most popular curcumin supplements are those that contain a black pepper extract (http://amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-Pepperextract-Bio-availability/dp/B00JA4TLTI/)
